to Tour New York

Lakes Grammar recently accepted an invitation from Choirs of America to be one of a handful of elite choirs to participate in the 2016 COA Choral Convergence Festival in NYC.

“We carefully select and invite only top choral programs,” said COA’s Artistic Director, Christopher Scott Olin. “These choirs then come together for unprecedented choral music education opportunities and performances.”

Lakes Grammar will be attending the Choral Convergence Festival in April of 2016. The event will take place in the New York City area on April 21, 22, & 23, 2016. Dr. René Clausen, Paul J. and Eleanor Christiansen Chair in Choral Music and Artistic Director of Choral Activities at Concordia College is one of the world’s most respected choral conductors and will be the COA Festival’s Master Conductor.

Choirs invited to the Choral Convergence Festival will participate in adjudicated performances with performance reviews, observational opportunities, full one-hour clinics with renowned clinicians such as Jerry Blackstone, Jeffrey Redding and Gene Peterson, school exchanges, and engaging workshops.  During the massed choir concert, Dr. René Clausen will lead a projected 500 or more voice massed choir prism concert in Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium. Clausen will also conduct a world premiere of his new piece commissioned specifically for the COA Festival.
